In fulfillment of its mission, the Pipe Organ Foundation offers three types of services. These services are provided for settings where funds are not available to perform the work on a commercial basis and where the work would not be done without charitable assistance (where funds are available, the Foundation refers the work to competent organ repairers and builders in the area). The types of services which are offered are as follows.

Repair of pipe organs. We are able to provide evaluation, referrals, and some repair services for pipe organs in the greater Seattle area. This falls within our mission of charitably promoting the preservation, placement, and playing of pipe organs, especially in public settings.

Removal and renovation of pipe organs. We would appreciate knowing of pipe organs especially in the Pacific Northwest which need to be removed from their current locations. As more organs are available than we can renovate, we must be selective in what we accept, but we are happy to come and to evaluate each organ brought to our attention. Typically, pipe organs are provided to us on a low cost basis or are donated to us. This combined with renovation of them primarily on a volunteer basis allows us to place these organs at greatly reduced prices which is consistent with our charitable objectives. Donations to the Foundation are tax exempt as the Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity. A copy of the IRS letter certifying this status is provided to every donor.

Placement of pipe organs. When a pipe organ has been renovated, it is ready for placement. We place these organs in public or semi-public settings in the Pacific Northwest. Such placements are routinely made in places where a pipe organ is desired but where a pipe organ could not otherwise be afforded. Done on a charitable basis, these placements are made at greatly reduced costs. We are interested in knowing of settings in the Pacific Northwest consistent with these objectives. |
